There are number of ways which we can classify Software defects. I have list few of the classifications,
- Showstopper or Fatal: A defect that will cause the system to crash, data corruption, irreparable harm or close abruptly or effect other applications.
- Major: A defect, which will cause an observable product failure or departure from requirements.
- Minor: A defect that will not cause a failure in execution of the product.
- Trivial: Issues in location of the object or the look and feel issue
These are the major ways in which defects can be classified.
